Fast Boat or Ferry

If you are including some time in Bali either side of your Lombok hoiliday you will find that a Fast boat or the Ferry service is generally quicker than a domestic flight.

There are two transit points to Lombok from Bali.  Serangan Island Harbour is the closest to Bali's better known tourism destinations in such as Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Jimbaran Bay, Candidasa, Canggu and also Bali's airport.  Fast Boat services from Serangan Island Harbour include  Gili Gede Fast Boat, Island Getaway, Scoot and Blue Water Express.

The second transit point is Padang Bai which is located on the north east side of Bali.  Unless you are staying in Ubud (Bali) we recommend saving time and money by booking ferry services from Serangan. The cost is approximately $60USD one way and typically takes 2 hours to cross to Lombok’s Northern or Southern Gili islands or to Senggigi.

The public ferry service departs from Padang Bai to Lembar Harbour (Southwest Lombok) every hour, 24 hours a day and the crossing takes between 4 and 5 hours.  The cost is approximately $4USD for an adult, $10USD for a motorbike and $60USD for a car.  The service is very safe although the trip can be quite rocky at times.  Please note there can be considerable delays for loading and unloading.

We are pleased to recommend the services of Gili Gede Fast Boat who offer charter packages to Lombok.  It is an Australian owned business  which maintains Australian boating standards.  You can find further information at their site www.giligedefastboat.com or contact them by clicking here.
